The atmospheric boundary layer is where it all happens. Defined as the area of the atmosphere affected by the earth, the PBL (planetary boundary layer) is full of interesting research questions. Here at USC, Dr. April Hiscox, hopes to answer some.

New NSF/NCAR funding
Dr. Hiscox and colleagues Junming Wang (U.Illinois), David Kristovich (U. Illinois), and Jielun Sun (NCAR) have received NSF funds for SAVANT. A field campaign to study the stable boundary layers in shallow topography.
